Wonderland transforms one of literature's most beloved stories into an immersive sculptural artist's book, inviting viewers to 

   experience Alice's Adventures in Wonderland through exploration rather than narration. Constructed as a spherical book, the 

   work abandons the traditional linear sequence of pages in favor of a three-dimensional form that encourages discovery from 

   every angle.

   Layer upon layer, familiar symbols emerge from the composition—the White Rabbit, playing cards, chess pieces, clocks, keys, 

   hearts, and other visual fragments drawn from Carroll's imaginative world. Rather than illustrating individual scenes, these iconic 

   elements are woven together into a richly detailed environment where objects, images, and symbols interact to create 

   unexpected relationships.

   The circular structure mirrors the playful logic of Wonderland itself. As the sphere slowly rotates and unfolds, each perspective 

   reveals new details concealed within the layers, rewarding curiosity and repeated viewing. Paper engineering, found objects, 

   illustration, and sculptural construction combine to blur the boundaries between book, object, and installation.

   Both interactive sculpture and artist's book, Wonderland celebrates imagination as an act of exploration. Like Alice's journey 

   through an ever-changing landscape, the work invites viewers to abandon expectations, embrace curiosity, and discover that   

   every turn offers another surprise waiting to be found.

   

   Artist Statement

   Alice's Adventures in Wonderland has been a constant source of inspiration throughout my life. Lewis Carroll's timeless story, 

   Tim Burton's richly imagined interpretation, and Robert Sabuda's extraordinary paper engineering each revealed a different way 

   to experience the same remarkable journey. Among them, it was Sabuda's work that transformed my understanding of what a 

   book could become and ultimately inspired my own exploration of book arts.

   This spherical artist's book is both a tribute and a conversation with those influences. Rather than retelling Alice's story, it    

   captures the spirit of wonder, curiosity, and discovery that has allowed the tale to endure for generations. 

   Familiar symbols—the White Rabbit, playing cards, chess pieces, clocks, keys, hearts, and other fragments of Wonderland—are 

   gathered into a sculptural form that invites exploration from every angle.

   Like Alice's descent into the rabbit hole, the experience unfolds gradually. Each layer reveals unexpected relationships, hidden 

   details, and visual surprises that reward close observation. There is no single point of view or prescribed

    path; the work encourages viewers to slow down, look carefully, and embrace the joy of discovery.

   Books have always been portals to other worlds, but they can also become worlds themselves. By transforming the familiar 

   codex into a three-dimensional sphere, I invite viewers to move beyond reading and into exploration. 

   Every turn reveals another possibility, reminding us that curiosity is often the beginning of both imagination and artistic practice.

   This work celebrates the stories that inspire us, the artists who expand our vision of what is possible, and the enduring belief that

    wonder is not something we leave behind in childhood—it is something we choose to carry with us.
